Court Appointed Attorney

If you are an offender currently on probation or supervised release with the U.S. Probation Office in the District of New Hampshire and have received a summons to appear before the Court to answer to charges of violation of your conditions of release, you are entitled to appointment of counsel if it is determined that you cannot afford to pay for legal representation.

If you feel that you qualify for appointment of counsel, you can find the Financial Declaration for Appointment of Counsel in our Forms section. Download this form, complete it fully, and forward it to the Clerk of the Court or your probation officer prior to your scheduled initial appearance before the Magistrate.

You will be required to swear, under oath, to the facts contained within the Declaration at time of the hearing, so be sure the information you provide is true and accurate.

If you have any questions regarding the appointment of counsel contact the Clerk of the Court for the District of New Hampshire.
